I used to think YouTube shorts was all luck, but after posting over 150 YouTube shorts across three different channels, I'm now earning two thousand dollars a month from one channel, and I can now confirm there's no luck with YouTube shorts. Here's a guide on how to make viral shorts so you can start seeing similar results. Step one create a YouTube channel about something you're interested in so we can upload shorts.
When creating a short channel, there are two options: one where you repurpose existing content and one where you upload original content. My channel is of the repurposed type, and I suggest you follow a similar approach if you want to make money quickly. The advantage of this type of channel is that you have an unlimited source of content, and you don't need any special skills or talent to be successful. All you need is to learn how to use video editing software, which I will explain in Step 2. To increase your chances of going viral in your first five shorts, I recommend searching for your niche and seeing what is already working.
To truly succeed on YouTube shorts, it's crucial to learn from those who have already found success. When I first launched my channel, I thought I had found the perfect topics for my shorts, but unfortunately, they didn't perform as I had hoped. That's when I knew I needed to take a closer look at what was working for others and incorporate those strategies into my own content. After producing 39 shorts, I finally had a breakthrough with my seventh upload, which went viral thanks to its exceptional attention and retention. Through trial and error, I uncovered two techniques that have consistently helped me create viral content ever since. If you're eager to learn how to apply these strategies to your own videos, keep reading and be sure not to miss step 3 on sourcing clips.
When searching for clips about a certain topic, it's best to turn to YouTube. For example, if your channel focuses on football, consider searching for "Neymar's funny moments". Be on the lookout for videos with high engagement, such as views and likes. And when you find a clip you want to use, make sure to download the original video it came from. This way, you'll have the proper source for your content, and it's always ideal to use the original video whenever possible.
We strive for excellence in the videos we share on our channel. It's important to us that we only showcase high-quality content without any watermarks, and that we never take credit for other people's work. To ensure that our content is seen by our audience, we encourage everyone to use the search bar to find the original clip they're looking for. While it may take some extra searching to find a specific clip, staying true to our values is worth the extra effort. Let's continue to create and share content that inspires and uplifts our viewers.
If you want to download some free YouTube videos, you just need to copy the URL and look for a downloader on Google. It's a bit repetitive if you want to download several clips since my channel features lots of compilations. But, if you plan to earn some money with those downloaded videos, you'll need to add some edits to comply with YouTube's rules for reused content. By tweaking your shorts, you'll be able to create a funny or thoughtful take on the content you didn't come up with originally and meet all the criteria that YouTube requires.
If you want to ensure that your YouTube shorts are engaging, there are certain things that you should avoid including in your content. For the fifth step in the process, I highly recommend using Adobe Premiere Pro to edit your short. However, any video editing software that includes a timeline feature will work just as well. Before making any edits to improve viewer retention, it's crucial to set up the frame size properly. The ideal dimensions for your frame size should be 1080 by 1920. Nevertheless, it's worth noting that some software may require you to adjust the frame size manually, so you may need to look up how to do this in your particular program.
Next, I'll add the downloaded clips to the timeline and remove the original sound. The sound doesn't contribute anything to my content and is usually just uninteresting background noise. However, if the audio is essential to the content you're creating, you should keep it in. Since my clip is part of a larger video, I'll need to use the cutting tool to select the specific moment I want to use and delete any leftover portions.
To achieve a more comprehensive outcome, I will be applying the same process to all of my Clips. In order to avoid any black borders, I will enlarge the video's scale and make necessary adjustments to center it within the frame. My primary aim is to improve the retention rate of my short and increase its chances of going viral. Based on my analysis of my first viral short, I realized that within the first second, I included one text edit, one highlighted Circle, and two sounds to captivate the viewer's attention.
By implementing a technique of making improvements every two seconds, we can create a visually and audibly engaging video that captures the viewer's attention from the very beginning. Adding a graphic such as a laughing emoji above Neymar's head during the opening scene can further enhance the viewer's experience and keep them watching. These small yet impactful changes can make a big difference in how our content is received and enjoyed.
In order to elevate the viewing experience, sound effects and graphics that correspond with the visuals will be added. It's highly recommended to keep a folder of sound effects and graphics to use throughout the project. As for the video on Neymar, additional graphics like arrows and text will be included to emphasize the topic. To provide variety, the type of graphic used in each edit will be alternated. It's crucial to tailor the frequency and style of edits to match the niche of the video. For instance, when creating motivational shorts, it's best to avoid using laughing emojis as it may not fit the desired tone. Although many short channels employ similar concepts, it's essential to customize them to fit the specific niche.
In order to make your shorts go viral on YouTube, it's important to cater to your niche audience. Using trending music can also help boost your views. Don't worry about using copyrighted music, as you can still monetize your shorts despite any copyright restrictions you may see in your YouTube Studio. Even if the restriction appears as "copyright-protected content found," it won't affect your shorts' monetization. In fact, you can see monetization on all of your shorts, regardless of any copyright restrictions.
When uploading your shorts, make sure to export them in the highest quality possible before uploading them to your channel. You may notice a sudden surge in views within the first hour, but then the views may plateau. This is a common occurrence for new YouTube shorts channels and it's YouTube's way of testing your video's appeal to a small group of viewers before promoting it to a wider audience.
Remember, creating a good video with high retention is key to going viral on YouTube shorts. While there's no guarantee that your video will go viral, it's a fair game where good content can get noticed. Keep an eye on your analytics to track your progress and adjust your strategy as needed.
I've been working on a video that has garnered over 200,000 views in just one week. This is typical for my channel, which boasts an impressive 250,000 subscribers. I'm confident that it will continue to go viral like my previous shorts, which have taken between 7 to 21 days for the algorithm to take notice. If you're aiming to create a viral short, expect a similar timeline.
My channel tends to go viral within the first 24 hours, and if you're curious about the analytics, feel free to pause the video. It's important to note, however, that creating a successful short takes time and requires practice with editing. In my upcoming video, I'll delve into YouTube Automation, so stay tuned for that.
